Cookie Policy
Last updated: 2026-04-10
1. What Are Cookies
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. We also use similar technologies such as localStorage (a web-browser storage mechanism) for some of the purposes listed below. In this policy, "cookies" refers to both.
Cookies help the website remember your preferences, keep you logged in, and — with your permission — measure how the site is used so we can improve it.
2. How We Ask for Your Consent
The first time you visit beenet.app, we display a consent banner that lets you:
- Accept all — including analytics cookies
- Reject all — we will only use strictly necessary cookies
- Customize — toggle each non-essential category individually
"Reject all" is offered with the same visual weight as "Accept all", in line with the French CNIL guidelines of 17 September 2020 and the European Data Protection Board (EDPB) guidelines 05/2020 on consent.
Your choice is stored locally in your browser (key: beenet-consent) with the consent version and timestamp. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time by clicking "Cookie settings" in the footer of any page. Withdrawing consent is as easy as giving it.
We also honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal and the Do Not Track (DNT) browser header: if either is set, the banner is not shown and non-essential cookies remain disabled.
3. Strictly Necessary Cookies
These cookies do not require consent because they are indispensable to provide a service you have explicitly requested.
| Name | Purpose | Duration | Provider |
|---|---|---|---|
beenet-lang | Remembers your language preference so we can route you to the right version (/, /fr, /ar) on return visits | Persistent (localStorage, until you clear it) | beenet.app (first-party) |
beenet-consent | Stores your cookie-banner choice so we do not ask again on every page | Persistent (localStorage, until you clear it) | beenet.app (first-party) |
| hCaptcha cookies | Bot protection on the demo request form only — loaded on /demo and required to submit the form | Session to 24 hours | Intuition Machines Inc. (hCaptcha, third-party) |
hCaptcha is considered strictly necessary for the specific feature of protecting a form against automated abuse, as recognized by the European Data Protection Board. It does not track you across sites for marketing purposes.
4. Analytics Cookies (with Your Consent)
If you click Accept all or enable analytics in the Customize panel, we use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors interact with the site so we can improve it.
| Name | Purpose | Duration | Provider |
|---|---|---|---|
_ga | Distinguishes unique visitors (anonymized) | 2 years | Google LLC (third-party) |
_ga_<ID> | Persists session state for Google Analytics 4 | 2 years | Google LLC (third-party) |
Our GA4 configuration
- Google Consent Mode v2 with default
analytics_storage = denied. No GA cookies are written until you grant consent. - IP anonymization enabled (
anonymize_ip: true). - No advertising features —
allow_google_signalsandallow_ad_personalization_signalsare both disabled. - No cross-site tracking, no remarketing, no audience sharing with Google Ads.
- Data is processed under Google's Standard Contractual Clauses for international transfers and retained according to GA4 default retention (2 months to 14 months, configurable).
Before you consent, Google Tag sends cookieless pings without identifiers. These allow basic aggregate measurement but store nothing on your device.
5. What We Don't Use
We deliberately do not use:
- Advertising cookies or retargeting pixels (no Meta Pixel, Google Ads, LinkedIn Insight, TikTok Pixel, etc.)
- Social-media tracking widgets
- Behavioral profiling cookies
- Cross-device tracking identifiers
- Third-party chat/help widgets that load session replays
6. Managing Cookies in Your Browser
In addition to our consent banner, you can manage cookies directly from your browser settings:
Most browsers allow you to view what cookies are stored, delete individual or all cookies, block cookies from specific sites, and enable "Do Not Track" or "Global Privacy Control" signals, which we honor automatically.
7. Changes to This Policy
If we introduce new cookies or change how existing ones are used, we will update this policy and — where legally required — ask for your consent again. Look for the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
8. Contact
