Not an AMI- or AMS-accredited curriculum. “Montessori” is a generic, publicly available term — no single organization holds it as a trademark — so any classroom can describe its approach this way. This is a free, generic planning template that lets any early-years program organize a week around the widely documented Montessori curriculum areas and observation-based teaching. It is not issued or endorsed by Association Montessori Internationale (AMI) or the American Montessori Society (AMS), does not reproduce either body’s copyrighted training materials, and is not a substitute for accredited Montessori teacher training or school accreditation.

How to use this template

• Fill in one copy per classroom, per week.
• Note your classroom’s uninterrupted work cycle — the protected block of time when children choose and repeat activities without adult-directed interruption — this is what most distinguishes a Montessori schedule from a conventional preschool day.
• Under each of the five curriculum areas (Practical Life, Sensorial, Language, Mathematics, Culture), list only the materials or exercises you are actually setting out or refreshing this week — leave an area blank if it isn’t changing.
• Use the Individual Child Observations section to log which child was presented which material and what you observed — this is how a Montessori guide decides what to present next, so treat it as a working record, not an afterthought.
• Add up to three observation entries per week; if you track more, keep a supplementary observation log and use this section for the week’s highlights.
• Fill in the reflection line after the week runs, so next week’s plan can build on what actually happened.
