Built for the two things a daycare actually needs from a wellness check: catching an unwell child early, and never re-typing the outcome into another module.
Record a Health Check at Drop-Off
Temperature is optional (°C, alert flagged at 38.0°C); appearance is a required single choice (healthy, tired, pale, flushed, other); symptoms are a required multi-select — cough, runny nose, rash, diarrhea, vomiting, eye discharge, loss of appetite, lethargy, irritability, none, or the GCC heat-exhaustion option. At-home medication (yes/no) requires a name and time when yes; drop-off notes and previous-night sleep quality are optional.

Every recorded check for a room or group on a chosen day, defaulting to today — the view a director or lead educator opens first each morning.
Send Home Sick, With Automatic Guardian Notification
A child who becomes unwell mid-day can be marked sent home directly from their record — the primary guardian is notified for pickup as part of the same action.

An instructor assigned to a room can send an alert to every guardian in it without naming which child triggered it — for their own assigned room only.

How It Works
Staff screens the child against the standard fields
Temperature, appearance, symptoms, at-home medication, drop-off notes, and sleep quality — the same structured form every time, with GCC heat and Ramadan context available where relevant. Where gender segregation is enabled, a same-gender educator screens when available; if not, any qualified staff member does, with the record noting a cross-gender screening occurred.
The outcome decides what happens next
Cleared sends the child to their room as normal. Monitor has the educator watch through the day without notifying the parent. Not Admitted sends the child home and notifies the parent. Sent Home covers a child who became unwell after drop-off.
Not Admitted auto-marks the Attendance absence
No separate step in Attendance — the not-admitted outcome writes an absent-sick record directly, and the parent is notified as part of the same decision.
A mid-day illness triggers a send-home, with an optional room alert
Staff marks the child sent home; the primary guardian is notified for pickup. An assigned-room instructor can also broadcast an anonymous, no-names-attached contagion alert to every other guardian in that room.

Common Questions
What happens if a child is turned away at drop-off?
The Not Admitted outcome does two things at once: it notifies the parent to come take the child home, and it automatically marks the child absent-sick in Attendance. There's no separate manual step to open Attendance and record the absence yourself.
Do other parents find out which child is sick?
No. If a room-wide contagion alert goes out, it reaches every guardian in that room without naming which child triggered it. The affected child's own guardians are notified directly and by name, as a separate notification — that's the only place a name appears.
Does Health Checks account for Ramadan or extreme regional heat?
Yes. From May through September, a GCC heat-exhaustion symptom option is available and cross-references outdoor-activity logs for heat-exposure awareness. During Ramadan, screening carries context notes for partial-fasting children aged 5–6 — tiredness, thirst, and appetite changes, sleep-quality notes for Ramadan sleep disruption, and awareness that at-home medication timing may shift with a family's Ramadan schedule.
Is this the same as Attendance tracking?
No — they're distinct modules that talk to each other. Health Checks owns the drop-off screening and the outcome; Attendance owns the presence/absence record. Who can authorize medication, or gets notified first if a child is sent home sick?
Every linked guardian can view a child's health check history. Only the primary guardian (Wali al-Amr) can authorize medication administration, and they're the first person notified when a child is sent home sick — other guardians are still informed, but the primary guardian is contacted first.
Is there a health-trends report for licensing inspections?
Not yet as a dedicated, one-click regulatory report — that's planned but not built. Today, a director builds trend awareness by reviewing the room health status view over time rather than exporting a single aggregated report.
